Birch Door
Birch Door is the pale wood entrance block crafted from six birch planks, opening by hand or redstone while blocking most mobs from entering a build.
Description
Birch Door stands two blocks tall and opens either by hand interaction or a redstone signal, closing automatically to block most hostile mobs from wandering inside. Villagers can still open and close Birch Door on their own, so the block is the standard entry point for village houses and trading halls. Birch Door is flammable like other wooden blocks, stacks to 64, and breaks fastest with an axe. Zombies can break a Birch Door only on Hard difficulty during village sieges, so on Normal and Easy the door stays a reliable passive defense for any birch-themed survival base.

How to craft and use a Birch Door in Minecraft
-
1
Gather six birch planks
Chop birch logs in a birch forest, dark forest, or meadow biome, then place each log in a crafting grid to convert one log into four birch planks.
-
2
Arrange planks in a 2x3 grid
Place six birch planks filling the two leftmost or two rightmost columns of a crafting table, all three rows tall, to produce three Birch Doors per recipe.
-
3
Place the door on a solid block
Right-click a solid block face where you want the entrance; Birch Door occupies two vertical blocks and attaches to the ground beneath it.
-
4
Open by hand or with redstone
Right-click the door to toggle it manually, or connect a lever, button, pressure plate, or redstone signal to automate opening and closing.
-
5
Use villagers for trading halls
Villagers open and close Birch Door on their own, so the block is the standard gated entrance for villager trading halls and village-style farms.
On Hard difficulty, zombies can break a Birch Door during a village siege. On Normal and Easy difficulty, Birch Door holds firm and keeps hostile mobs outside.
