Birch Boat with Chest is a birch-wood rowboat whose passenger seat is occupied by a single chest with 27 slots of storage. One chest plus one birch boat anywhere on the crafting grid yields one Birch Boat with Chest; the birch boat itself takes five birch planks in a U shape, and the chest takes eight planks in a ring. The chest opens when the player uses the Birch Boat with Chest while sneaking, or through the rider's own inventory screen while sitting in the boat. Attacking the Birch Boat with Chest makes the boat drop as an item together with every stored object; tools and weapons dealing more than 4 damage break the boat in a single hit.

On the water, the Birch Boat with Chest trades a passenger for logistics. Hoppers above, below, or beside the boat fill or drain the chest automatically, and one boat can sit across nine hoppers, splitting a load evenly nine ways.
