How to get Armadillo Scute and craft Wolf Armor in Minecraft
-
1
Find armadillos
Travel to a savanna or badlands biome and look for armadillos, the only mob that produces armadillo scutes.
-
2
Wait for a scute to drop
An adult armadillo drops one scute on its own every 5 to 10 minutes, so stay nearby or fence a few into a pen.
-
3
Brush for an instant scute
Use a brush on an armadillo to harvest a scute immediately instead of waiting for the natural drop.
-
4
Collect six scutes
Repeat until you have six armadillo scutes, the exact amount needed for one set of wolf armor.
-
5
Craft and equip wolf armor
Arrange the six scutes in the wolf armor pattern on a crafting table, then use the armor on a tamed wolf to equip it.
Armadillos and armadillo scutes were added in Java Edition 1.20.5 and Bedrock Edition 1.21. Wolf armor can be dyed any of the 16 colors and repaired with extra scutes.
