Description

Witch Spawn Egg is a Creative-only item that instantly spawns a hostile Witch when you right-click a solid surface in Minecraft. The Witch Spawn Egg cannot be crafted and never drops in Survival; players obtain the Witch Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory or with the command /give @s minecraft:witch_spawn_egg. Spawn eggs were added in Java Edition 1.1, and the Witch arrived in the 1.4.2 update, so the Witch Spawn Egg works in every modern version across Java and Bedrock Edition. The Witch Spawn Egg stacks up to 64, letting map makers place large groups of Witches at once.

Right-clicking the ground with the Witch Spawn Egg spawns one Witch at that point, while right-clicking a monster spawner in Java Edition reprograms that spawner to produce Witches. A Witch throws splash potions of Poison, Slowness, Weakness, and Harming, and drinks Healing, Fire Resistance, and Swiftness potions to survive, making the Witch Spawn Egg a handy tool for testing potion combat in adventure maps. Builders also use the Witch Spawn Egg to populate swamp-hut recreations, since swamp huts are the only structure where Witches naturally generate. Reach for the Witch Spawn Egg whenever you need controlled witch encounters without waiting for natural night-time spawns.
