Copper stairs gain this weathering automatically over time through random ticks, following the same four-stage cycle as every other cut copper block: unoxidized, exposed, weathered, and fully oxidized. Weathered Cut Copper Stairs require a stone pickaxe or better to break, since mining without a pickaxe drops nothing. Lightning strikes and axes both remove the buildup: an axe scrapes Weathered Cut Copper Stairs back one stage to Exposed Cut Copper Stairs, while a Honeycomb waxes the block to freeze it at this stage permanently.

Six Weathered Cut Copper blocks arranged in the standard stairs pattern on a crafting table yield four Weathered Cut Copper Stairs, and a stonecutter turns one Weathered Copper block into four of the stairs directly. Weathered Cut Copper Stairs never generate on their own; only the fully oxidized, waxed variant appears through natural world generation, so builders get this middle stage only by crafting it or by waiting out the oxidation clock on regular Cut Copper Stairs. The muted green-and-brown finish suits rooftops, garden paths, and any build meant to look aged without going as dark as the final Oxidized Cut Copper Stairs.
