Tadpole Spawn Egg
Tadpole Spawn Egg instantly spawns a tadpole in Minecraft 1.19+, the only mob that grows into a frog whose color is set by the biome it matures in.
Description
Tadpole Spawn Egg is the fastest way to start a frog farm, because the spawned tadpole matures into a frog after about 20 minutes and its final color is decided by the biome where it grows up: temperate biomes produce orange frogs, warm biomes such as deserts and jungles produce white frogs, and cold biomes such as snowy plains produce green frogs. Players who want a specific frog variant should use the Tadpole Spawn Egg in the matching biome, or scoop the tadpole into a Water Bucket and carry it there before it matures.
Minecraft Guide
How to use a Tadpole Spawn Egg in Minecraft
-
1
Open the Creative inventory
Open the Creative inventory or run /give, then find Tadpole Spawn Egg in the spawn eggs tab.
-
2
Aim at water or ground
Point the crosshair at a water source or solid block where you want the tadpole to appear.
-
3
Use the spawn egg
Right-click (or tap) to release one tadpole; each use consumes a single Tadpole Spawn Egg.
-
4
Pick the right biome
Spawn or move the tadpole into the biome whose frog color you want, since the variant locks in when the tadpole matures.
-
5
Wait for the frog
Leave the tadpole in water for about 20 minutes until it grows into an adult frog.
The frog's color is set by the biome where the tadpole grows up, not where the egg is used — move tadpoles with a Water Bucket to get white, orange, or green frogs on demand.
