Snort Pottery Sherd
Sherd showing a flared-nostril face, brushed from suspicious sand in desert pyramids.
Description
This fragment is used to craft a Decorated Pot: place four sherds or bricks in a plus shape around an empty center slot on the crafting grid, and the face on each side of the resulting pot matches the piece placed in that slot. A Decorated Pot has a single inventory slot of one stack and works with hoppers both above and below it. Breaking the pot bare-handed drops it whole, while breaking it with any tool returns the original sherds and bricks individually.
Obtaining & Using
How to Find and Use the Snort Pottery Sherd
-
1
Craft a Brush
Before searching, craft a Brush from one feather (top slot), one copper ingot (middle slot), and one stick (bottom slot) in a crafting grid. Each Brush has 64 uses before it breaks.
-
2
Locate a Desert Pyramid
Travel to a desert biome and find a desert pyramid. The loot rooms are buried chambers beneath the pyramid floor — each room contains 4 suspicious sand blocks.
-
3
Brush the Suspicious Sand
Hold the Brush and right-click (use) on each suspicious sand block. The Snort Pottery Sherd slowly appears over several brush passes, then drops as an item. Each block yields one item, but the sherd is not guaranteed — other loot can drop instead.

Use the Sherd to Craft a Decorated Pot
Place 4 sherds or bricks in a plus (+) pattern on a crafting grid, leaving the center slot empty. The Snort Pottery Sherd placed in any of the four slots will display its flared-nostril motif on the corresponding face of the resulting Decorated Pot.

Store Items in the Decorated Pot
A Decorated Pot crafted from Snort Pottery Sherds holds one inventory slot with a capacity of one full stack. Hoppers can insert items from above and extract items from the sides or bottom.
Breaking a Decorated Pot bare-handed drops the whole pot as an item. Breaking it with any tool (even a fist with an item held) destroys the pot and returns the original Snort Pottery Sherds and any bricks used individually.
