Two Smooth Sandstone Slabs in one block space combine into a double slab that fills a full block, while a single Smooth Sandstone Slab stays partially transparent. Smooth Sandstone Slab can be waterlogged (filled with water instead of air) for pools and canals. Smooth Sandstone Slab halves the height of smooth sandstone, so floors and ceilings in desert builds sit closer together than full blocks allow.
