Description

The Slime Spawn Egg is a Creative-mode item that spawns a slime when you use it on a block in Minecraft. The egg is green with darker green spots, matching the slime's gel body. You cannot craft the Slime Spawn Egg or obtain it in Survival — it appears only in the Creative inventory or through the command /give @s minecraft:slime_spawn_egg. Using the egg on a surface spawns a slime of random size that bounces toward players and splits into smaller slimes when killed. Slimes drop slimeballs, which craft sticky pistons, leads, and magma cream. In Survival, slimes spawn naturally in swamp biomes at low light and in special slime chunks below Y 40. The Slime Spawn Egg works in both Java and Bedrock Edition.

How to use a Slime Spawn Egg in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Open the Creative inventory

Switch to Creative mode and search 'slime' in the inventory, or run /give @s minecraft:slime_spawn_egg to get the egg through commands in Survival.

  2. 2

    Select the spawn egg

Place the Slime Spawn Egg in your hotbar and select the slot so the egg appears in your hand.

  3. 3

    Aim at a solid block

Point your crosshair at the floor or any solid surface where you want the slime to appear.

  4. 4

    Use the egg

Tip

In Creative mode the egg is never used up, so you can spawn as many slimes as you like.
