Sea Lantern emits maximum light underwater and is harvested from ocean monuments — the cleanest aquatic light source.
Description
The defining feature is light without compromise. The block emits level fifteen brightness — the maximum in the game — and works perfectly underwater, where torches go dark and lanterns hang awkwardly. Sea Lantern is the standard ceiling and floor element of underwater bases, conduit chambers, and aquarium builds. Mining without Silk Touch destroys the block and drops two to three prismarine crystals (Fortune adds bonus rolls). Mining with Silk Touch returns the block intact, the only practical way to relocate them once a monument is cleared.

Gather prismarine
Raid an ocean monument and defeat guardians to collect 4 prismarine shards and 5 prismarine crystals. Guardians drop crystals occasionally, while prismarine shards drop from every guardian kill.

Open the crafting table
Sea Lantern needs the full 3x3 grid, so place a crafting table and open it instead of using the 2x2 inventory grid.

Place the prismarine crystals
Put one prismarine crystal in the center slot and one in each of the four edge slots, forming a plus shape across the grid.

Add the prismarine shards
Fill the four corner slots with prismarine shards. The recipe produces one Sea Lantern that emits light level 15.
Mining a Sea Lantern without Silk Touch breaks it into 2-3 prismarine crystals, so use a Silk Touch pickaxe to recover the block intact.
