Red Cushion
Red Cushion is a placeable seat entity (not a regular block) crafted from three Red Wool Slabs; press use on the seat to sit down.
Description
Pressing use on a placed Red Cushion seats the player, and a seated player cannot be affected by portals, knockback, geysers, or pistons until dismounting. A line of cushions spaced two blocks apart, ridden with the use key held, reaches 15 m/s — faster than horseback; spamming the use key reaches 45 m/s, and a keyboard-remapped use key reaches 60 m/s. Red Cushion has no collision box, so the seat rests on any surface under one block in height, including slabs, stairs, and snow layers.

Lay Red Cushions in a line with two blocks between seats and hold the use key to ride at 15 m/s.
Minecraft checks the block under a cushion every 100 game ticks (5 seconds): Red Cushion breaks when the support disappears, a piston pushes the seat, or fire destroys the seat.
