Description

Pillager Spawn Egg is a Creative-only item that instantly summons an armed Pillager onto a clicked surface, available only from the Creative inventory or commands. Pillager Spawn Egg cannot be crafted or found in Survival, stacks to 64, and joined Java Edition in 1.14 alongside Bedrock Edition 1.9.0. The spawned Pillager carries a crossbow that may spawn enchanted with Multishot or Piercing, and in Java Edition the mob can appear as a Raid Captain wearing a banner.

Using Pillager Spawn Egg consumes the item in Survival and fires from a dispenser to release the mob, though Survival players cannot legitimately obtain the egg at all. Players spawn the crossbow-wielding Illager to test village raids, populate target ranges, or stage patrols and raid defenses in Creative builds. Killing a Raid Captain summoned from Pillager Spawn Egg applies the Bad Omen effect, the same trigger that starts a village raid on entering a village.
