Pig Spawn Egg is a pink-and-salmon spotted utility item that immediately spawns a pig when used on a block in Minecraft. Pig Spawn Egg is not craftable and never appears in Survival mode — players obtain it only from the Creative inventory or with the command /give @p pig_spawn_egg. Spawn eggs were added in Java Edition 1.1, and each egg carries a two-tone color scheme matching the mob it produces, so the pink base of Pig Spawn Egg mirrors a pig's skin.

Using Pig Spawn Egg on a mob spawner reprograms that spawner to produce pigs in Java Edition, which makes Pig Spawn Egg handy for custom farms and adventure maps. The spawned pig is a passive mob that drops 1–3 raw porkchops, breeds with carrots, potatoes, or beetroot, and can be saddled and steered with a carrot on a stick.
