Parrot Spawn Egg is a Creative-mode item that spawns a parrot when used on a solid block in Minecraft, introduced in Java Edition 1.12 (the World of Color Update) and Bedrock Edition 1.2. The egg has a green base with red speckles, matching the most common red parrot variant. Each Parrot Spawn Egg produces a single parrot in a random color chosen from five variants — red, blue, green, cyan, and gray. Parrot Spawn Egg cannot be crafted and is obtained only from the Creative inventory or the /give command in Survival.

Parrots created from a Parrot Spawn Egg are tamed with seeds — wheat, melon, pumpkin, or beetroot seeds — after which they perch on the player's shoulder. Tamed parrots imitate nearby hostile-mob sounds, dance beside a playing jukebox, and follow their owner. Builders use Parrot Spawn Egg to populate jungle-themed aviaries and tropical bases instantly, without waiting for rare natural jungle spawns. One important warning: feeding any parrot a cookie kills it instantly, so keep cookies away from a populated aviary.
