Description

Pale Oak Door is a wooden door made from pale oak planks, the light wood introduced with the Pale Garden biome in Minecraft 1.21.4. Craft it by filling a 2x3 area — two vertical columns of three pale oak planks — to get three doors at once. The door is two blocks tall and can be opened by hand with a right-click or triggered by redstone such as buttons, levers, or pressure plates. Unlike an iron door, this wooden door can always be opened by hand, but zombies can break it on Hard difficulty, so reinforce entrances if you rely on it for defense. When closed it blocks most mobs and keeps your base sealed. The door is flammable, so keep it away from lava and fire. It works in both Java 1.21.4 and Bedrock Edition.

How to craft and use a Pale Oak Door in Minecraft

    Get pale oak planks

    Chop a pale oak tree in the Pale Garden and turn the logs into at least six pale oak planks.

    Craft the door

    Fill a 2x3 area on the crafting grid — two vertical columns of three pale oak planks — to make three doors.

    Place it

    Right-click on the floor where you want the doorway; the door fills a two-block-tall gap.

    Open and close

    Right-click the door to open it by hand, or wire a button, lever, or pressure plate for redstone control.

    Defend the entrance

    On Hard difficulty zombies can break wooden doors, so add a second door, trapdoor, or block barrier if needed.

Hand-openable, unlike iron

A pale oak door always opens by hand. If you need a door only redstone can open, use an iron door instead.
