Description

Nether Gold Ore is netherrack speckled with bright golden flecks, added in the 1.16 Nether Update. It generates abundantly throughout the Nether across all biomes, roughly between Y=10 and Y=117, making it the most common gold source in the dimension. Unlike Overworld gold ore, any pickaxe — even a wooden one — mines it successfully, so players can collect gold from the moment they arrive. Mining it without Silk Touch drops 2-6 gold nuggets, and the Fortune enchantment raises that yield; nine nuggets craft one gold ingot. With Silk Touch the ore block drops intact, which can later be smelted into a single gold ingot. One important catch: breaking Nether Gold Ore angers any nearby piglins and zombified piglins, even when you wear gold armor, so clear the area or mine quickly to avoid a swarm.

How to mine Nether Gold Ore in Minecraft

    Build and light a nether portal, then step through it — Nether Gold Ore generates only in this dimension.

    Look for netherrack dotted with bright gold specks along walls, ceilings, and exposed cliffs between Y=10 and Y=117.

    Strike the ore with any pickaxe, including a wooden one; it always drops 2-6 gold nuggets without needing an iron-tier tool.

Watch for piglins
