Magenta Cushion is a seat, not a solid block: a placeable entity that no pickaxe can mine, because any hit — even one dealing zero damage — breaks the cushion instantly, and a broken cushion always drops itself. Three magenta wool slabs in one row of the crafting grid yield one Magenta Cushion, and a cushion of any other color plus magenta dye works as a re-dye shortcut. Magenta Cushions also generate naturally in abandoned camps, usually within 1–2 blocks of a campfire, where cushions of all sixteen colors can appear. The support block under Magenta Cushion is rechecked every 100 game ticks (5 seconds), and a missing support or a pushing piston breaks the cushion. Magenta Cushion is 0.249 blocks tall and 0.999 blocks wide, has no collision, and settles on surfaces lower than a full block, including slabs, stairs, snow layers, wildflowers, and enchanting tables.

Pressing use on Magenta Cushion seats the player, and a seated player is immune to knockback, geysers, pistons, and portals until dismounting. A line of cushions with a two-block gap between each one, ridden by holding the use key, reaches 15 m/s — faster than horse riding. As furnace fuel, four cushions smelt one item, each cushion burning for 50 game ticks (2.5 seconds). Unlike wool, cushions do not dampen vibrations: sculk sensors and sculk shriekers detect placing, breaking, walking, and even sitting on Magenta Cushion. Fire and lava destroy cushions, so keep Magenta Cushion away from open flames; a stack of 16 seats furnishes a whole seating circle in one inventory slot.
