How to get and place a Lily Pad in Minecraft
-
1
Find lily pads in a swamp
Travel to a swamp or mangrove swamp biome, where lily pads spawn floating on the water surface.
-
2
Collect the lily pad
Hit the lily pad with any tool or your hand; it breaks instantly and drops itself as an item to pick up.
-
3
Place it on water or ice
Aim at the top of a water source block, ice, or packed ice and place the lily pad so it floats there.
-
4
Build a walkway or decorate
Line up several lily pads to cross deep water on foot, or scatter them to decorate ponds and swamp builds.
Boats destroy any lily pad they collide with, so route your boats away from decorative lily pad fields.
