Green Cushion is a placeable entity rather than a solid block — a seat that behaves like a painting or an item frame, added to Java Edition in version 26.3. Three green wool slabs in one horizontal row on a crafting table yield one Green Cushion, and any cushion combined with green dye recolors into a Green Cushion. Abandoned camps generate Green Cushions naturally, usually within 1–2 blocks of a campfire, and a broken Green Cushion always drops the item itself. Any attack breaks a Green Cushion instantly — even a projectile or a zero-damage hit from a non-player mob — so mining tools never come into play.

Pressing use on a placed Green Cushion seats the player, and the seated player ignores knockback, geysers, pistons, and portals until standing up. The 0.249-block-tall seat rests without collision on any surface under one block in height, including slabs, stairs, and snow layers. Four Green Cushions smelt a single item in a regular furnace, with each cushion burning for 50 game ticks (2.5 seconds). A line of cushions spaced two blocks apart moves a seated player at 15 m/s — faster than horse riding — and spamming the use key reaches 45 m/s. Fire, lava, and a piston push destroy a Green Cushion, and the seat also breaks once fully covered by suffocation-causing blocks.
