Golden Helmet
Golden Helmet is a low-durability but highly enchantable head armor crafted from 5 gold ingots, and wearing it keeps Nether piglins neutral instead of hostile.
Description
Beyond enchanting, Golden Helmet has one signature use: wearing any piece of golden armor, including Golden Helmet, stops piglins in the Nether and bastion remnants from turning hostile. Players also find Golden Helmet as a rare zombie or skeleton drop and inside bastion loot chests. Because Golden Helmet breaks quickly, pair it with Unbreaking III and Mending so the cheap gold piece lasts, or wear it purely as a piglin-safe disguise while mining for Ancient Debris.

How to make a Golden Helmet in Minecraft
-
1
Gather 5 gold ingots
Smelt gold ore or raw gold in a furnace, or trade with villagers, until you have at least five gold ingots.
-
2
Open a crafting table
Open the 3x3 crafting grid; the 2x2 inventory grid is too small to craft a helmet.
-
3
Arrange the helmet shape
Place 3 gold ingots across the top row and 1 gold ingot in each of the left and right middle cells, leaving the center empty.
-
4
Collect and enchant it
Take the Golden Helmet and add Unbreaking III and Mending at an enchanting table or anvil to offset its low 77 durability.
Golden Helmet works the same in Java and Bedrock Edition; in both, wearing it keeps piglins in the Nether and bastions neutral.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft a Golden Helmet?
Place 5 gold ingots in a 3x3 grid — three across the top row and one in each side of the middle row — to craft one Golden Helmet.
How much protection does a Golden Helmet give?
Golden Helmet provides 2 armor points and only 77 durability, making it weaker than iron, diamond, or netherite helmets.
Does a Golden Helmet stop piglins from attacking?
Yes. Wearing a Golden Helmet, or any golden armor piece, keeps piglins in the Nether and bastions neutral instead of hostile.
Is a Golden Helmet worth enchanting?
Golden Helmet has the highest enchantability (25) of any armor, so it gets strong enchantments easily, though its low durability needs Unbreaking and Mending.
