How to use Golden Boots in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the boots
Place 4 gold ingots in the boots pattern (two vertical columns with the middle column empty) on a crafting table to get one pair.
-
2
Equip them
Open your inventory and drag the boots into the feet armor slot, or hold them and right-click to equip.
-
3
Enchant for value
At an enchanting table or anvil add Feather Falling, Depth Strider, or Protection — gold's high enchantability gives strong results cheaply.
-
4
Wear them in the Nether
Keep at least one gold armor piece on so piglins stay neutral while you trade or explore bastions.
Golden Boots have only 91 durability and break quickly without enchantments — add Unbreaking and Mending if you plan to keep them.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft Golden Boots?
Place 4 gold ingots in a boots shape (two vertical columns with the middle column empty) on a crafting table to get one pair.
Do Golden Boots stop piglins from attacking?
Yes. Wearing any gold armor piece, including Golden Boots, keeps piglins neutral in the Nether unless you provoke them.
How much protection do Golden Boots give?
One armor point, the same as leather boots, so they offer minimal defense on their own.
Why are Golden Boots good for enchanting?
Gold has the highest enchantability of any armor material, so the enchanting table tends to produce stronger and more numerous enchantments.
Are Golden Boots durable?
No. They have only 91 durability and wear out fast; Unbreaking and Mending make them last much longer.
