Like all armor trims, it applies through a smithing table using the template, an armor piece, and any compatible trim material. The selected material determines the pattern color. The template is consumed on use, so players who want it on multiple pieces should craft duplicates first by combining the original with seven diamonds and an end stone block on a crafting table. Pairing the pattern with amethyst, prismarine, or netherite materials creates visually striking results that emphasize the otherworldly eye aesthetic.

Find the template in a Stronghold
Locate a Stronghold and open the library bookshelf chests or the end portal room altar chest. Eye Armor Trim has no crafting recipe and only generates in these Stronghold chests.

Bring any helmet, chestplate, leggings, or boots plus one trim material such as emerald, amethyst, or netherite ingot. The material you pick sets the color of the eye motif.
