Description

Evoker Spawn Egg is a creative-only Minecraft item that spawns one Evoker when right-clicked on a solid block, with no crafting recipe and no survival drop. Evokers are spellcasting illagers that raise fangs from the ground for 6 magical damage (Java Edition) and summon Vexes, the small flying mobs that pass through walls. A killed Evoker always drops exactly one Totem of Undying, plus one Emerald when a player lands the killing blow, making the egg the safest way to stage a totem farm in Creative. The item stacks to 64, was introduced in Java Edition 1.11 (the Exploration Update, November 2016) and Bedrock Edition 1.1.0 (June 2017), and is obtained exclusively from the Creative inventory or the /give command. Evokers also appear naturally inside Woodland Mansions and during Raids, so Survival players never need the egg to encounter them.

Guide

How to use an Evoker Spawn Egg in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Switch to Creative Mode

Evoker Spawn Egg exists only in the Creative inventory, so open Game Mode and pick Creative before the egg becomes selectable.

  2. 2

Pull the egg from the inventory

Open the Creative item list, search for Evoker Spawn Egg, and place a stack of up to 64 eggs into the hotbar.

  3. 3

    Right-click a solid block

Stand next to a solid block and right-click the surface while holding the egg; exactly one Evoker spawns on that block.

  4. 4

    Watch the Evoker's fang attack

The spawned Evoker raises fangs from the ground for 6 magical damage on Java Edition and ignores armor with that damage type.

  5. 5

    Collect the Totem of Undying

Defeat the Evoker to collect one Totem of Undying guaranteed, plus one Emerald if a player lands the killing blow.

Tip

The summoned Evoker also calls Vexes, small flying mobs that pass through walls, so fight in an enclosed space and never in a base you want to keep intact.

Frequently asked questions

Can you craft an Evoker Spawn Egg in Minecraft?

No. Evoker Spawn Egg has no crafting recipe and is not dropped by any mob; it appears only in the Creative inventory or via the /give command.

How do you get an Evoker Spawn Egg in Survival?

You cannot obtain Evoker Spawn Egg in Survival: it has no recipe, no mob drop, and no natural generation. Use the Creative inventory or /give @p minecraft:evoker_spawn_egg instead.

What does the Evoker Spawn Egg spawn?

Right-clicking a solid block with the egg spawns one Evoker, a hostile spellcasting illager that attacks with ground fangs and summons Vexes.

Does the Evoker spawned by the egg drop anything?

Yes. A killed Evoker always drops one Totem of Undying and drops one additional Emerald if a player lands the killing blow.

Is the Evoker Spawn Egg renewable?

No. The egg is a Creative-only item, so it is not renewable through any Survival mechanic, only refilled from the Creative inventory.

Where do Evokers naturally appear without the egg?

Evokers spawn inside Woodland Mansions and during Raids, so Survival players meet them there without needing the spawn egg.
