Description

Cherry leaves are found exclusively on cherry trees in cherry grove biomes, introduced in Java Edition 1.20. Unlike most leaf blocks that use shades of green, these leaves have a vibrant pink-purple colour with a translucent texture that lets light filter through. When viewed from above or below, they continuously emit a stream of small pink petal particles that drift downward, a purely cosmetic effect that persists regardless of season.

Breaking the leaves without Silk Touch drops sticks and occasionally a sapling; applying Fortune III increases the chance of sapling and stick drops. Silk Touch preserves the block for transplanting. The leaves cannot be sheared into petal items — the petal particle is visual only.

Cherry grove biomes generate in temperate mountain areas and are among the most visually distinctive biomes added in recent versions. The matching wood — log, plank, door, and trapdoor family — has a pale pink hue, making this foliage and the associated planks a cohesive palette for romantic, Japanese-garden, or spring-themed builds. The biome also contains tall grass and pink petals as a ground layer, reinforcing the floral aesthetic.
