Brown Glazed Terracotta is the smelted, glossy form of terracotta in Minecraft. One block of brown terracotta smelts into exactly one Brown Glazed Terracotta. A pickaxe of wooden tier or better harvests Brown Glazed Terracotta, and mining without a pickaxe drops nothing. Brown Glazed Terracotta stacks to 64, shows a hardness of 1.4 and a blast resistance of 1.4, emits no light, and entered the game in Java Edition 1.12 and Bedrock Edition 1.1.0.

Brown Glazed Terracotta never generates naturally, so smelting and villager trading are the only sources: an expert mason sells glazed terracotta of any color for emeralds, which makes glazed terracotta renewable. The texture of Brown Glazed Terracotta rotates to face the player during placement, and blocks set in the correct orientation across a 2×2 or larger area merge into a single image — the mechanic behind mosaic floors and murals. Pistons can push Brown Glazed Terracotta, sticky pistons cannot pull glazed terracotta, and glazed terracotta does not stick to slime blocks or honey blocks, so slime-block machines carry no pattern blocks along. Warm brown tones make Brown Glazed Terracotta a companion block for wood builds and plain terracotta walls.
