Description

Brown Cushion is the brown variant of the cushion, a placeable entity (an object set in the world rather than a mineable block) added in Minecraft Java 26.3 for sitting on. One Brown Cushion is crafted from three Brown Wool Slabs laid in a row on the crafting grid, and that recipe keeps the seat renewable. Cushions also generate naturally in abandoned camps, usually within 1–2 blocks of a campfire. A placed Brown Cushion stands just 0.249 blocks tall, has no collision, and rests on surfaces less than a full block high, including slabs, stairs, and snow layers.

Press use on a placed Brown Cushion to sit down, and a sitting player stays unaffected by knockback, pistons, and portals until standing up. Any hit breaks a Brown Cushion instantly — even a zero-damage projectile — and the cushion always drops itself, so replacing the seat costs nothing. A Brown Cushion also works as furnace fuel with a burn time of 50 game ticks (2.5 seconds), smelting one item per four cushions in a regular furnace. Unlike wool, cushions do not dampen vibrations, so sitting down on a Brown Cushion still alerts a nearby sculk sensor.
