Description
Bone Block is crafted from nine bone meal in a 3×3 grid, yielding one block — a steep input that nonetheless delivers value through unique aesthetics. The texture shows banded ivory tones suggesting stacked vertebrae, and like a log the block has directional grain that rotates with placement: vertical, horizontal-east, and horizontal-north orientations all show the bands along the corresponding axis.
Natural generation appears as fossils underground throughout the Overworld and the Nether, taking the shape of partial dinosaur or whale skeletons embedded in stone or netherrack. Players who spelunk through caves often encounter these structures and recognise them by the distinctive ivory bands. Builders use the block for arches, halloween-themed skeletal builds, fantasy library frames, and as a clean light-tone alternative to bone-coloured terracotta. The decompression recipe also exists: one bone block returns nine bone meal, useful for converting accidental crafts back into fertilizer.
