Description

Bamboo Door is crafted from six bamboo planks arranged in a two-by-three door pattern, yielding three doors. It functions like other wooden doors: right-clicking opens and closes it, and redstone signals can automate it. Unlike iron doors, it can be opened by hand without a button or lever. The pale yellow texture makes it distinctive in builds with East Asian or tropical aesthetics. It can be placed on any solid surface and requires clearance for the upper half. Bamboo is farmed efficiently in bamboo jungle biomes or dedicated bamboo farms.

How to craft and use a Bamboo Door in Minecraft

    Collect bamboo

    Find a bamboo jungle biome and harvest bamboo stalks. Bamboo breaks instantly with any tool or bare hands, making it one of the fastest resources to farm in Minecraft.

    Craft bamboo planks

    Open your crafting table and craft 9 bamboo into a block of bamboo, then place the block in any slot to get 2 bamboo planks. There is no recipe that turns bamboo stalks into planks directly.

    Craft the bamboo doors

    Fill a 2×3 column in the crafting table with 6 bamboo planks. This yields 3 bamboo doors at once — the same 6-planks-to-3-doors ratio as every other wooden door.

    Place the door

    Click the bottom block of a 2-block-tall gap in your wall. The door occupies both blocks and automatically faces the player when placed.

    Open or automate

    Right-click to open and close by hand. To automate, connect a button, pressure plate, or lever with redstone. The door switches state with any redstone signal of strength 1 or higher.

Does not burn

Bamboo doors are not flammable and survive submersion in lava in Java Edition, yet each door still works as furnace fuel and smelts 1 item.
