Description

Bamboo Button is a wooden-type button that powers a redstone circuit for 30 game ticks (1.5 seconds) after a player presses the button. Bamboo Button is crafted from one Bamboo Planks and attaches to the side, top, or bottom of any full opaque block. While pressed, Bamboo Button powers adjacent redstone dust to power level 15 and strongly powers the attachment block at the same level.

Bamboo Button stays on longer than Stone Button, which stays on for 20 ticks (1 second), and can also be pressed by a fired Arrow or a thrown Trident. An Arrow keeps Bamboo Button pressed until the Arrow despawns after 1 minute or a player picks the Arrow up. Bamboo Button breaks and drops as an item when its attachment block is removed or a Piston pushes the button, and in Java Edition also when water or lava flows into its space.

Guide

How to use a Bamboo Button in Minecraft

1

Craft the button

Put one Bamboo Planks anywhere in the crafting grid to craft one Bamboo Button.
2

Place the button

Use Bamboo Button on the side, top, or bottom of a full opaque block to attach it.
3

Connect redstone

Redstone dust next to Bamboo Button receives power level 15 while Bamboo Button is pressed.
4

Press the button

Use Bamboo Button to hold the signal for 30 game ticks (1.5 seconds), or shoot Bamboo Button with an Arrow to hold the signal until the Arrow despawns or is picked up.

Self-resetting signal

Bamboo Button is a monostable power source (it switches itself off shortly after pressing), so a circuit that must stay on without repeated pressing needs another power source.
