What it depicts

A golden apple hangs from a string in a stone windowsill, while an inverted slice of glistering melon sits resting on the ledge. The two objects float and perch within a dark window opening, lit against the shadowed recess. The stark, suspended-fruit arrangement mirrors the geometric still-life tradition it draws from.
