What is Customizable Player Models?

Customizable Player Models (CPM) is a Minecraft mod by tom5454. It lets players change the shape of their character, adding ears, tails or wings or building a completely different body, and show it to other players who have the mod.

Where do I get the code of my model?

In the CPM editor open File → Export, switch the mode to "Base64 String", press Export and then Copy. If the model is too big for a code, the editor uploads it and the code becomes a short link, which works here too.

Can I see a model by a player nickname?

Yes, if the player exported the model into their skin with "Export mode: Skin". The viewer reads the model from that skin. A freshly changed skin can take a few minutes to appear.

Is my model uploaded anywhere?

No. Codes and files are read in your browser and are not saved. A model from a link or a nickname is loaded from the site it is stored on, and a shared link carries only the code or the link, not a copy of the model.

Why does my model look different in the game?

The preview shows the base pose. Animations, gestures, cape, elytra and armor parts are not shown yet, and the lighting is simplified.
